Ethyl acetate
Ethyl acetate, also known as acetic acid ethyl ester, is a colorless, transparent liquid with a fruity aroma. It is highly volatile and flammable. It is miscible with a variety of organic solvents, including ethers, alcohols, halogenated hydrocarbons, and aromatics, and is slightly soluble in water. It can also form azeotropic mixtures with certain solvents. It is widely used in industries such as organic chemical synthesis, fragrances and flavors, paints, and pharmaceuticals.
